Fashion Article: Finding Your Style

Posted under Misses Plus Size Clothing, Plus Size Clothing, Plus Size Fashion, Plus Size Fashion Article, Plus Size Women Articles, Women's Plus Size Clothing

You may have found over the years that your own personal style simply copies the style and fashion of those around you. Just because others are wearing the items, however, does not mean that they are right for your personality. Finding your own personal style takes a little in depth thought, but it is worth the extra effort.

When you start putting an outfit together, do not think about the outfit in its entirety. First, consider your favorite colors and then dig a little deeper. If you like the color blue, ask yourself if there are certain shades you like better than others. This will give you a base color to watch for when you shop for new clothes.

The type of music you like can also help you choose outfits. The music in the background of your life could help inspire certain outfits and styles. If you like classical music, perhaps you would also like a more classical style. If your musical tastes are more eclectic, try shopping in thrift stores for more unique options.

If you want to fit your style into a certain category, research the various fashion trends and find out what they mean. Once you read a little on the emo, prep, classic and other fashion styles, you may see your personality fitting in well with one particular style.

Hairstyle is another important aspect in terms of personal style. There are plenty of different hairstyles from which to choose. In order to highlight your features, you will need to find a hairstyle that expresses the shape of your face and fits your personality and lifestyle. If you are a busy mom, you might prefer a short, easy to manage hairstyle. If you work in an office, you might like your hair longer so you can play with different up styles. There are plenty of online programs that can take a picture of you and place different hairstyles on it so you do not have to leave anything to chance. You can try any hairstyle and examine the outcome before getting the cut.

The best thing you can do to create your own personal style is listen to yourself and your body type. Choose clothes that you enjoy and appreciate that also fit you well and highlight your strong points. After a little time, you will become a pro at finding the perfect outfits.

The best way to find your personal style is to simply start shopping. Never limit yourself by choosing only name brands or shopping in certain stores. Take a look at a variety of stores and write down details about the clothes that stick out in your mind. Once you have an individual style in mind, there might even be a Groupon deal available on clothes of that nature. Creating a style does not have to cost you an arm and a leg.

Makeup Article: Holiday Makeup Tips

Posted under Makeup Articles, Plus Size Fashion, Plus Size Fashion Article, Plus Size Information, Plus Size Makeup, Plus Size Women Articles, Wedding Articles

Want to know how to wear your makeup for the holidays? Well, after countless views of more photographs than I can count I have found the most popular Celebrity Holiday Makeup. I chose my top three favorites and recreated them for your reading and viewing pleasure. Feel free to recreate your own version of these gorgeous styles for you own Holiday events.

The first look is the always in style cat-eye. This look is fun because it calls for a bit of a heavy hand with the eye-liner. First I used a soft shimmery champagne eye shadow color close to the lash line up into the crease of the upper lid. Then I blended a soft brown eye shadow into the crease for some definition. To create the actual cat eye effect I used black gel eyeliner and an ultra fine eyeliner brush by Bobbi Brown. The easiest way to get perfect liner is to start where the upper and lower eyelids meet and paint up towards the eyebrow following the natural arch of the lower lid. Next, start from the tip of the wing and paint in towards the inner eye gradually pointing the line downward towards the lash line till they merge.

Then simply fill in the space where skin is showing if there is any.

This technique will result in a perfect cat eye every time. Take the residual liner on the brush and work it into the lower lash line. I finished the eyes with a brown pencil eye liner on the lower water line to add a bit more depth and several coats of mascara. The cheeks should be subtle but noticeable, so I used a peach blush from Benefit and a touch of bronzer. Finally, I lined the lips in a nude liner and filled in with a beige lipstick with just a touch of gloss for shine.

It is important to keep the lips neutral with such heavy eye makeup; otherwise you could end up looking over done.

The second look is not only a celebrity favorite, but one of mine as well. Incorporating jewel tones into a smokey eye is a great way to make the eyes pop and show off a more fun side to makeup. Color seems to fade from many women’s color palettes as we are “growing wiser.”

This look is a fun and adult way to wear those colors you moved to the back of the makeup drawer. I started with my eyeliner. By laying the eyeliner down first I will still get definition of the eye shape without taking away from the shadow, plus gel liner will act as a primer and help to hold the shadow in place. I created a thick line of eyeliner all across my lid then applied a Laura Mercier wet to dry shadow as my jewel tone. Wet to dry shadows are the best when trying to achieve a vibrant color on the eyelids. Apply one layer wet then pack dry shadow on top until wanted vibrancy is achieved. I lightly blended a medium plum shade into the crease to soften the lines and create a smokey effect. Finish the eyes with tons of mascara. I kept the cheeks soft again with this look by using a rose blush blended with a touch of peach blush. The lips are a soft rose with lilac gloss on top.

Welcome to the land of class! Red lips are an absolute must for the holiday season. The trick to wearing red lips is to allow them to be the featured item. Always go easy on the eyes and cheeks, otherwise a clown may show up to the party instead of you. I started with a white shadow all over the lid and worked a soft grey into the crease for the slightest hint of definition. I blended the grey with a light warmer color for a bit more soft definition of the eyes. Then I used black gel liner to thinly line the eyes. It is fine to give yourself a little wing at the end, the ladies in the 50’s sure did! (That’s how long this look has been in style, Amazing!) I used a golden bronzer to add some warmth all over the face and added just a touch of a soft pink/coral blush. For the lips I began by lining them with red lip liner and coloring in the entire lips. Then I went back over them with “Red” by Bobbi Brown followed by a ruby sparkle gloss for shine and dimension. Filing in the brows with a soft color gives this look a nice finishing touch because the strong structure of the lips is balanced by the more defined brows.

Whether you are going to a party or to family’s house for dinner, any of these looks can be tweaked to appropriately fit the occasion. The Holiday’s are all about celebrating and remembering, so remember to wear your stunning Celebrity Inspired Holiday Makeup and enjoy every moment with your friends and family!

Fashion Accessory Article: Which Boots Should You Choose?

Posted under Clothing Accessories Articles, Fashion Accessories Article, Misses Plus Size Clothing, Plus Size Clothing, Plus Size Fashion, Plus Size Fashion Article, Plus Size Information, Women's Plus Size Clothing, Women's Shoes

Good news! The winter is approaching and it is time for us ladies to do some serious shopping for women’s boots. We know that women’s boots come in all kinds of shapes, colours and sizes so there is a lot to choose from. Some women prefer to wear over-the-knee boots that look great with skirts, whereas other women prefer to wear flat boots that are great for doing lots of walking.

ALDO Criblez Suede Metal Heel Ankle Boots (ASOS) $226.98
Boots are generally very comfortable and easy to walk in, as the famous song of Nancy Sinatra (covered by Jessica Simpson) points out ‘’these boots are made for walking, that’s just what they’ll do’’, however not all boots are made for walking. Sexy high heel boots are known to be difficult to walk in, even though they certainly look great with dresses, skirts or even with jeans. They come in various heights, so if you are not a star in walking in high heels, make sure that the heels are no longer than 2 inches (or 5 cm).

Carvela Wigan Rouched Knee High Boots $401.58 (ASOS)
No matter what kind of boots you choose, there are several things you need to consider when purchasing boots. First, make sure that they are trendy and, for those who do not have much to spend, match most of your clothing. If you are the kind of girl who wears lots of colourful clothes, I would recommend buying black boots as they go with anything. Secondly, buy shoes that are right for you. If you have skinny legs, try some cowboy boots or knee-high boots. If you have slightly larger legs then I would suggest trying a pair of stretch boots or ankle boots.

Apache Shearling Cuff Ankle Boots $48.89 (ASOS)

Ankle boots are great because they are so confortable to walk in. I am wearing similar boots as the apache shearling cuff ankle boots right now and it is a big relief after having worn high heels for meetings yesterday all day! I prefer to wear ankle boots underneath pair of jeans or a long skirt. Don’t wear them under short skirts because this is a complete mismatch. When wearing these boots with a long skirt, make sure that your socks don’t show.

Lastly, always make sure that your boots have a long life-span as poor quality boots usually only last for a couple of weeks. Even though this gives you the opportunity to buy a new pair (we can never have too many shoes!), it would be great to have boots that can be worn for the winter as well. Good quality boots usually have a solid and thick sole, are waterproof and have extra padding filled inside, preventing the fabric from ripping too easily.

Plus Size Fashion Article: Looking Fabulous in Plus Size Dresses

Posted under Misses Plus Size Clothing, Plus Size Body Article, Plus Size Bridal Wedding Gowns, Plus Size Clothing, Plus Size Dresses, Plus Size Fashion, Plus Size Fashion Article, Plus Size Information, Women's Plus Size Clothing

Plus Size Wedding DressesMost plus size women don’t think that they can look sexy and beautiful in dresses. Models are seen in magazines as being “perfect” and that most dress designers cater their dresses for that type of body. The truth is that plus size dresses are more readily available by designers and there are many options to choose from to look great in. Most women make mistakes when buying plus size dresses whether it is a wedding dress, cocktail dress, or evening gown. There are certain things to consider for each type of dress so you can always look your best.

A wedding is one of the few times in life a woman gets to feel absolutely beautiful and have every eye and all the attention in the room on her. This is the most common reason why most women take weeks to find the perfect wedding dress. For plus size women, it is important to find the best dress to flatter the body and accentuate the positive points of the body. For example, a busty woman will benefit from a v-neck, low cut dress. On the other hand, if a strapless or sleeveless dress is not going to flatter the arms and chest area, a popular option is a sleeved dress which is going to add a timeless look especially if going with a lace style sleeve. A mistake that is best to avoid is buying a dress that is a billowy gown and very “Cinderella-like”. This style of dress is going to make the body appear much more round which is exactly what should be avoided. Instead, a properly fitted dress for a plus size woman should add a slimming effect.

Cocktail dresses are one of the most popular dresses and a great way to express yourself with the endless designs and patterns. Unlike wedding dresses or other types of dresses, cocktail dresses can be worn to a variety of occasions from casual to formal settings. There are several considerations to keep in mind when buying a plus size cocktail dress. The main options to look at are the color and also the fit. The colors should not be too bold or extravagant the best choice being neutral tone colors. This will give a slimming effect and also appears very classy. If a pattern must be chosen, vertical stripes are a great option since they also give an illusion of added height which will make you look slimmer. The same concept should be applied to cocktail dresses as they are with wedding dresses. Positive traits should be exploited and negative features should be hidden. For a plus size woman with great legs, a dress with a short cut length is a good choice and for a women who is uncomfortable showing off her arms, a sleeved dress is advisable.

Plus size women have desirable bodies because they can easily show off their curves and assets in their wardrobe. Shopping smart and knowing what to look for when buying a plus size dress will save you from headaches and will keep you in style looking beautiful. No matter what size or body type, there is always a variety of dresses to help you feel beautiful.
