After a long, sweltering summer, we’re all excited to break out the newest fall fashions. This year as you’re re-stocking your cold weather wardrobe, there a few key pieces that will sail you through the season in style.
While this is arguably the most important item in your closet all year long, womens body shapers are especially useful in the fall when leggings and fitted sweaters abound. A body shaper will help you flatten your tummy, slim your thighs and give you a more defined waist. With one of these undergarments on, all your clothes will fit better and fall just right. Even better, they’re so comfortable you won’t even notice they’re there. The seamless design of these pieces means no one else will notice them either.
Every woman needs a go-to pea coat. This classic, staple item comes in endless styles and designs but can truly make any outfit. Stores such as Woman Within and Lands’ End offer a great selection of plus size coats. Avoid pea coats that are cropped really short as these can sit on the hips, accentuating them. Look for one that is cinched at the waist to help define your curves. The extra bulk of coats can create the appearance of added weight, so this is a great time to wear a body shaper to help slim your midsection.
Though the colors of fall tend to be more muted than summer, this year it looks like brights are trending to continue past August. While coral or mint green might be a bit much, a pair of red, green, or purple slacks can be a killer addition to your wardrobe. This is another great instance when womens body shapers come in handy. The bright color will draw attention to the legs and rear, so a thigh slimming body shaper will give you confidence to rock these eye-catching pants. Throw on a more sedate cream or charcoal pea coat over top and you won’t have to worry about people thinking you’ve forgotten what month it is. These bright, cheery colors will help you get through the bleaker weather with a smile on your face.
When it comes to jewelry this fall, think watches and bangles in natural colors. Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs are still stealing the show on the watch front, and for good reason! Tortoise shell, nude, and gold are all great looks for autumn.
Of course, we can’t forget the shoes. Similar to last year, it looks like this fall is going to be all about the boots. A wedge-heeled boot is a great way to add some height, which helps us all look longer and thinner, without the pain of torturous stilettos. To avoid a frumpy or widening look, stay away from the slouchy style boots. Grey and tan in leather and suede are shaping up to be big boot hits this fall.
