Making It Big is a plus size store that started out as a outlet store in Cotati in Sonoma County, California where I used to live. The store went online a few years ago. I’ve purchased a few items from their outlet store and have been very pleased with the quality and durability of their clothing. The pricing of their clothes is higher than most regular plus size retail clothing you’d see in the mall. The quality of their clothes is very nice and their designs tend to be long, are generously cut and flattering shapes that cover you well. 90% of their products are created out of natural fibers. They still have an outlet store located in Sonoma County in Cotati, California as well as their online store.

They have some beautiful fabric colors and unusual styles you just don’t see too often in online stores or off the rack. Most of their tops are longer length. I prefer longer styles for coverage of the hip and stomach areas and I’m sure there are many plus size women who prefer this as well.

Over five years ago I purchased a thermal print shirt made of cotton, a rugged cotton pullover shirt, a linen shirt and some socks from the company over a couple of years. The thermal top was blue with snowflake design on it, rounded edges at the bottom and cuffed neck and sleeves. Years later it finally is giving out at the sleeves and I’ve gone down in size so it is too big. I wore that shirt to death it was so comfortable, one of my favorite lighter shirts. The pullover was a heavy cotton material in taupe with a white screen print of a mountain on the front of the shirt. Its too big for me now but I love it so much I’m keeping it. Its still in great shape years after and is one of my favorite all time shirts. The linen shirt was beautiful, an earthy cream tweed fabric that was really high quality and looked great on. It also became too big and I finally gave it away. I wish it had still fit because I’d still have it. The linen tunic was very dressy, a nice long length and very comfortable. I still have the socks which are from what I can tell handmade and have been worn and washed a zillion times and are now just starting to wear out. Great socks, extremely warm and fun colors too.

I find it refreshing that Making It Big uses real plus size women as models and I’m not talking about size 12 models either. Sizing runs from 2X to 8X, be sure to check their sizing chart to see what size you would be in their unique sizing chart. Check out their sales page located here, they are having sales of 75% off:
